Extra October Blog

For the month of October one of my highlights was my independent component. These first few weeks in my entrepreneur class has given me a new set of paradigms of what entrepreneurship really is. Not only that but my college class has also shown me the best way to have a successful startup. My professor, Dr.Kushev, has lead me into a world I was not aware of.

One of the essential things I have learned is that in order for an Entrepreneur to have a successful startup, he must test and make sure there is a customer for the business he wants to launch. Without a viable customer segment, any business is bound to failure. As an entrepreneur, when you know that there is a customer segment for your business, a startup has a high probability of turning into a successful company.

Blog 8 - Research and Working EQ

1.  What is your working EQ?

What are the key activities a entrepreneur must do to have a successful startup?

2.  What is a possible answer to your working EQ? Please write the answer in thesis format.
  • Create a business model canvas to test if the product or service is a valid one.
  • Get out of the building and find out what problems or needs potential customers may have.
  • Once the business model canvas is completed, create a business plan to take into action the product or service that was tested.
3.  What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?

I have many valuable sources, but in this case, my most valuable source that has helped me answer my working EQ has been a book called "Business Model Generation".

4.  Who is your mentor, or where are you doing mentorship, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?

I am doing my mentorship in a company called Kittrich Corporation where I am working through different sectors of the company and am learning how they work. This relates to my EQ by the nine different blocks that are part of the business model canvas are integrated in how Kittrich Corporation operates.

Independent Component 1 Approval

1.  Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.

For my 30 hours I plan to take an entrepreneur class in CSU pomona. This class specifies on entrepreneurship and is only about entrepreneurship.

2.  Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.

I will use everything that is going to be taught in my entrepreneur class and will be able to research more about my topic as a go. I will also be able to start to do things "hands on".

3.  And explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.

Being in a entrepreneur class will allow me to learn more of my topic, and teach me more about what entrepreneurship is all about. I will also have the privilege to get advice from professors who are extremely knowledgeable of entrepreneurship.

4.  Update your Senior Project Hours log.
